Method
- Step 1: Preheat the OvenPreheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat to prevent sticking and for easy cleanup.
- Step 2: Prepare the NutsChop the mixed nuts (almonds, walnuts, and pecans) into smaller pieces if desired. This helps with even distribution and crunch. Set the nuts aside.
- Step 3: Combine Wet IngredientsIn a medium saucepan, melt the coconut oil over low heat. Once melted, remove from the heat and stir in the honey (or maple syrup), vanilla extract, and salt. Mix until well combined.
- Step 4: Mix the Oats and NutsIn a large mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats and chopped mixed nuts. Pour the wet mixture (from Step 3) over the dry ingredients and stir well to coat everything evenly.
- Step 5: Spread the Granola MixtureSpread the granola mixture in an even layer on the prepared baking sheet. Press it down gently with a spatula to help it stick together and form clusters.
- Step 6: BakePlace the baking sheet in the oven and bake for about 20–25 minutes, stirring halfway through to ensure even baking. Keep an eye on the granola to prevent it from burning. It should be golden brown and crispy when done.
- Step 7: Cool DownOnce the granola is done, remove it from the oven and let it cool completely on the baking sheet. As it cools, it will crisp up further and form clusters.
- Step 8: Optional Add-insOnce the granola is completely cooled, you can add optional ingredients like dried cranberries, raisins, chia seeds, flaxseeds, or shredded coconut. Stir them in until evenly mixed.
- Step 9: Store and EnjoyTransfer the granola to an airtight container and store it at room temperature for up to 2 weeks. Enjoy it on its own or with yogurt, milk, or fruit!
Notes
This estimate assumes you're using standard ingredients like rolled oats, mixed nuts, honey, and coconut oil. You can adjust the values slightly if you change ingredients (like using maple syrup instead of honey or adding optional ingredients).
